I am wondering if Flowers can breed with motoros, i have the opertunity to get me a male flower, and i already have female motoro. Just wondering.

Best Regards.

I have heard and seen a castexi flower cross but yet to hear about motoro. I would say yes but as Lincoln said, it is rare. My opinion is you would have better luck with a mature male flower crossing with another ray and if you were able to keep just the mature male with a mature female motoro with no distractions then the odds would be better.

Flowers mature at huge sizes compared to motoros and much later. It takes more than 5 years from what I know.

Casterxis mature later and grow large too so I can see how it can happen.

Good luck finding a male motoro big enough to handle a mature female flower.

I would bet on a Tiger being a suitable mate though if you were thinking of crossing. They seen similar, but that just by looks, not a scientific approach.

The thing is that it is a male Flower were talking about, and a female Motoro. As far as ive read, the males dont get as big as females, thats why i thought this combo might be good. And also i would love to have something rare and different in my pond, i love my rays, but lets face it, motoro`s are not that fancy. For me i think Flower rays are one of the nicest rays out there. And since this is a male, that dont get as large as females, it seems perfect to me.

my question is why? there is already too many hybrids coming out of asia. better keep stigrays pure for now
