Can Gar teeth scratch an acrylic tank if they swing their rows of teeth toward the acrylic panel? The reason I asked is cuz I have acrylic scratchs coming out of no where and I know I didn't scratch it.

he doesnt have gravels and i dont think its possible but ur fish might have moved the wood and scratched ur tank? b.c in my 2 years(almost 3 years) of keeping gars, never got scratched tank with gars

most definitely possible, and it most definitely happens. GDII (gar-den II) was a brand new acrylic tank i had made for my bigger gars, and they have been scratching up the inside for years now. it's not that bad as long as there is water in the tank, but if you look closely at the tank in person it is definitely noticeable.

there is really no preventing this as gar teeth are numerous and can project outward from the snout at odd angles. just another aspect of keeping gars--
