I have a 3geo dicrozosters in my 30g fw tank. I added a fw-brackish puffer. They recommend keeping the puffer at an sg of 1.005. Can geos handle that amount of salt?

Puffers will do better fresh than geos in brackish, must move geos to bigger tank

Not only should a geo not be kept in BW but a puffer is not good choice for husbandry either. Puffers nip, nip, nip and most geos have long tasty filaments (fin trailers, extensions, streamers whatever you want to call them) I LOVE puffers too but there are not many species that do not require a species only tank. :(

Geos are now in my 125 fw. I'm going to go with 2 figure8 puffers. Hope they get along.
Maybe mollies would work too?

Puffer forum says 2 Figure8's Are ok for a 30 gal.

Good news on the dicroz's.. Mollys do quite well in BW. Just make sure to make the change over to BW slowly. The ease of breeding live bearers practically makes it impossible to find anything wild caught so chances are good any molly you find locally has never seen BW. Brackish requires marine salt, this will kill off your benificial bacteria if you adjust up the salinity too quickly.
