can help what with this eel behavior?

What is it doing? Looks to me like it’s just trying to tuck itself into the corner. I would add sand and more hides.

even an unoccupied cave, didn't used it. hide at the side rather than inside.

bichir, gar, rainbow shark, and pleco
rainbow shark the biggest before follow up by eel (longest)
no chase from rainbow shark
Maybe one of the fish is pushing it out. Bichirs will similar take up hides and even nip.
I'd be inclined to try providing some sort of hide that has a very small opening which the eel can still enter, and a smallish interior volume to provide a more secure sense of concealment. Perhaps something like a length of PVC or ABS pipe of small diameter. Better still, or in concert with the above, would be some fine-grained sand substrate for burrowing.
I'm always a little saddened to see fish that would normally live a hidden, cryptic life being kept in barren aquariums with no way to satisfy their retiring nature. That's what that otherwise-healthy-looking fish seems to be doing; just jamming himself into a corner, wishing for a better place to be...like a nice snug chunk of pipe...

that cave above & the pvc pipe are both & the only hiding spot.

they are possible, but been watching...
the bichir has its hiding spot with some unoccupied, and no nip on the eel detected(nor on other fish)
as much want to say it's the calmest, there is no such thing as that. similar to this predator fish with no aggression, but it still has.
