My sis has a 50gl with some juvi dats (2"-4" @ 4pcs) and they have rosy cheecks (was told a fungal infection...) so I told her why dont she give me the dats for a while till she starts her tank all over (H2o from scratch and get it going...)?
If I add them to my 60gl sump for my 300gl would they pass that to my tankmates in the 300gl???

Otherwise, what is the best way for her to get the rosy cheecks stuff gone???

I would think since they are sharing the same water but I could be wrong.

yes, anything that the dats have would be shared to your fish. but it is unlikely that they have a fungal infection, unless the area looks fuzzy it is probobly a bacterial or a parasitic. Either way it will be transmitted to your fish.

best case, your sis keeps them and treats with a broad range of meds...parasitic, bacterial, (fungal is optional, it is unlikely it will do anything, but i have been wrong before), and something natural that isnt as harsh but can be used long(er) term.

What med do you recommend for the rosy cheecks??

is "rossy cheeks" behind the gills??

if so use a formalin med along with a bacterial med, such as tea tree oil

personaly i like using Formalin with Melafix, but other people like other combinations

She said shes using Melafix. Does she need to use the other??

personally, i would. its like $3 for a little insurance that it isnt a parasitic thing.

i would put them in a Q tank not worth the risk its possible to spread
