I am tempting to add one Electric Blue Jack Dempsey to my community tank.

The tank dimension is 176 x 58 x 58 cm, approximate 150g. After subtract bg volume, estimate around 120-130g (500-550L?).

Currently housing
1 x common oscar (Astronotus ocellatus), male, 2 years, 10.5 inches
1 x Loiselle's cichlid (Parachromis loisellei), female, 5 months, 5 inches
1 x Hybrid African cichlid, 6 months, 5 inches
2 x Balloon convict (Amatitlania nigrofasciata), pair, 6 months, 2.5 inches
1 x Black Ghost Knife (Apteronotus albifrons), 5.5 years, 15 inches
1 x Spotted Raphael (Agamyxis pectinifrons), 5.5 years, 4 inches

Is my tank adequate for all of them above in full grown size plus EBJD? or should I leave it as it is?
So far, I don't see any dispute among them. I don't want to break the harmony.
So, can I or can't. What is the recommended size of EBJD if I were to add one?

Thanks in advance.

my 8" male ebjd does fine in my 180 with several other larger more aggressive cichlids. however all fish are different. try it?

I know a lot of people say you shouldn't mix Africans with sa/ca cichlids but I have before with Ebjd and the Ebjd was the bully so if that's what you want I'd give it a shot. But I wouldn't add a tiny Ebjd to the mix since you have some larger cichlids already

It should be fine if you get one big enough. I would Worley about the Oscar and ghost knife eating one to small.

Awesome tank. Did you do the background yourself or did you buy it?

Thanks, I just have done some quick research on EBJD. They are slow grower even normal JD, juvie to adult in 2 years. I saw some at nearby LFS, 2.5" to 3" in size. I doubt he will be able to stand ground from others. I might need one at least 5".

Any recommendation other than EBJD that will fit to my tank?

Background is diy and builded myself. you can browse build thread below.

@Tommyb130, thanks for suggestion. My knowledge on CA/SA cichlids is quite limited.
I would prefer some fish that would not over power my Oscar. :)

No problem. The few I just listed wouldn't be able to mess with that Oscar. Adding fish is a pain isn't it you don't want to mess up a good thing but you also want to have a few nice fish lol. All depends on the personality of the fish
