I am going to be moving my 210 from one location to another and draining the tank out but saving the water, filter bacteria etc. Just picking up and driving it 10 min down the road. i really want to put black sand down. Will new sand spike my tank levels you think? Too much stress for the fish all at once?

i think ur going to go through a mini cycle anyway i would go for it

i have changed substrate in one of my tanks and i had a ammonia spike. i did a couple water changes and added seachem stability and a week later water was fine. good luck

i think you should be fine michael

Anyone think it would be a good idea to remove the existing substrate slowly, a little bit at a time for a week or two before the move, instead of all at once?

DO IT! Once you go black, you'll never go back!

(estes that is, of course)

I think it will set off the colors in your hybrid girl really nice, cant wait to see it bro..
