Can I add Shrimp to my tank?

I'm setting up a low level tropical tank, I'm going to have tetras, and other hardy fish. Do you think I can add ghost shrimp to the bottom of my tank? I think they would add a cool element to my tank.

you can but shrimp is natural food for fish. so if the fish are too big they might eat the shrimp.

true, I may grab a few bucks worth and throw it in. Not planning on restocking the shrimp if they all get eaten but would be cool while they last, I'm going to higher swimers then the shrimp and put some nice faux plants (Im not ready for real plants yet) and see if they last

If you really want to put shrimp in that tank, then maybe you should go with caridina multidentata(amano shrimp). They are hardier than most smaller shrimp and are larger.

Or Flower Shrimp they get up to 3" and shouldn't kill you fish since there filter feeders.

if u want, put huge size ghost shrimps. not an issue.
