I was given a 14 gallon biocube for free (one hella of friend!). I'm gonna set if up as a small reef tank. Do you think i could breed clownfish in this? here are a few pictures of the tank and the stand? does the filter like right? what kind of filtration would you use in this?

Thank you so much for the tank Doug!!!! You Rock!!!:headbang2

aha false perculas right?they do get to about 4 inches so i say it may be pushing it. ou should know that clowns can be some pretty mean s.o.bs I say go for it but you may be pushing it if you add any other fish. is this your first saltwat4er tank?

it is possible to breed them in a 14g ive bred them in a 10g some of my frends have bred them in 7g but i would not recomend any less than a 14g i have to do 40% water changes weekly and i do run a large filter made for a 55g aquarium the frend that bred them in a 7g did not intensionaly breed them they just bred after 2 years i couldnt belive it in such a small aquarium but he done 3 50% water changes weekly (i did tell him it was to small but you can not controle people)
any way if you going to breed them in a 14 i defenatly wouldnt put any fish in with them clowns can be quite aqqressive to other fish there size if you decide not to breed them you could add some other fish
trust me its very hard to look after the yung youll allso have to be prepard to hatch brine shrimp 1 of the main couses of failiure is not having the food ready at the right time
you could not breed any other spices of clown there the only spices most get to big

thank you so much for the help. im gonna do this slow and set everything up right so i have the best chance possible. what is the best coral to have with these clown?

YES........I have seen CLownfish being bred in quartered off tanks that are as small, if not smaller, than that 14 cube..........Put a coral or a rock inside the small cube and let the fioish do their thing.......

ok got it. any other tidbits you think i shoud know?

Owning a spare 10-12g tank will help you in the assitance of raising the fry to a saleable size.......Within 2 months, the fry will be of perfect size to "let go...."
