Can I build a pond like this?

So can I just dig a nice big hole in the ground (of course i will properly dig it and make it nice) and then just pour cement in it and smooth it out to make a pond? Then if that works, can I somehow stack concrete blocks or something above ground around the pond to make part of it above ground?

No, you can just build a pond like that, you would need to reinforce the inside before pouring cement, I'm not an expert but I'm sure you have to coat the concrete with something.

I would do a lot of research before starting.
