hii ordered a 5.5'x2.5'x'2.5' which wud arrive next weekend..
i currently own a 6inch chili and a 8inch rtg. i heard 3 is the min number of aros if want to do comm tank. hence i wud need a 3rd aro..
i'm planning to get a super red..

however the real issue is that, wud the tank house 1 aro for life? wud 3 be too many? or i wud need more? the tank might be too small huh?

2nd issue.. So how do you do a comm tank? just chuck in 3 aros in after ur done cycling the tank? i heard the aros must be more or less the same size ? help please..

thank you in advance.

For a tank of that size I myself would try a comm with asians. The width is nice for them to turn around in.

Every fish has a different personality, good luck. Bottom line, throw them in and see what happens.

thanx.. i wud need all the luck in the world..

bro the tank size cant be permanent,
however it should last a good long time IMO
the problem i see is the RTG, which in most cases tend to be more aggressive than super reds,
if you want a COMM tank be prepared to return a fish because every fish is different!
if you are going to do 3 aro in that tank i suggest heavy filtration and the 3rd member be around 7 inches, between the rtg and your other super red just so size does not play to big of a role when it comes to dominance,
i also suggest you chuck them in there all at once thus no one gets to claim any territory causing issues when you want to add other fish later on.
Fighting might occur, be prepared for torn fins and chipped scales, but dont give up it can be done!
Goodluck

agree...the tank is way to small to house them for life...those fishes can grow much bigger and will require more room...after a while they could develop scale curls if the tanks is to small..there really is no magic number on how many to house to make it a community tank...it all really comes down to if they are aggressive towards each other...you could inspect them by allowing them in the tank with lights off and just listen for noises...thats the easiest way to tell...even if you have 3,4,5 fish in there....if one of them is aggressive then you're stuck with it...
