So caught some kids at my pond bowfishing. It's a private pond and they shot one of my shortnose. I only have 5 in the pond. Can I do anything? I put him in a extra 90 gallon I had. He's floating at the surface on his side wasn't this morning when I put him in.

This is the 2nd time I've had people bowfishing my pond lost 7 gar last time. The arrow went in his back came out the side.
thanks

I think the only you can do is add salt, put a cover on the tank to reduce stress, and provide plenty of aeration........and hope for a miracle.

I would lower the water level so far that he dont need to swim when he wants to breathe.
Take care of the water quallity to prevent infections.
But honestly i think it dont look really good.
Maybe some internal injurys that you can not see

I will drop my water down. I'm sure some of his parts are messed up.
sorry to hear about your gar. what did you do to the kids?
My truck and my dogs chased them out after I yelled at them and they told me to f off. They dropped their bow so if they want it...

threw an aerator on, salt in, covered the tank with a blanket and praying

I put a dozen yoy in the pond about two year agos he's about 20"

Sorry to hear about your gar, where did you get them from? Did you catch them or buy them?

Hope the gar makes it!

No I would just do as said. lower the water level just so it has to lift it's head. add salt raise temp. add melafix (the tea tree oil one) and hope for a miracle.
