Used to feed mine live brine shrimp. That is about the only live food I could get him to eat.

Other than that, it only ate flakes.

Thats a good looking brevis. Does it really hangout in the shell on top of the lava rock there?

Yep, used to... until it got eaten by my Nimbochromis Fuscotaeniatus.

Any live is good for N. brevis but I would rather feed them a good variety of flake or pellets because you don't know how clean the source of the live food (ex. black worms) unless you grew them yourself, or just hatch Brine Shrimp your fish will love you for it, if they are capable. :)

I used to keep and breed these and had the most success feeding them frozen foods and NLS pellet. they spawned regularly and i did not need to worry about parasites brought in by live foods

that would be a yes...you sure can

Now I was wondering since there is some algae beginning to build up in my tank. And because it is a small tank I don't want a pleco, could I get away with having some adult amano or cherry shrimp in the tank. The algae is mainly growing on some texas holey rock piled up on one side of the tank that the brevis kind of stay clear of.
