keeping Squash in bottom of tank is not easy, I bought fresh brussel sprouts vegetable and I boiled them so that it became soft. then I drop them into the tank for plecos to eat.

has anyone tried feeding brussel sprouts to their plecos? will they eat these?

I haven't but it's fresh greens so feed away. I know I have read of others feeding brussels to other fish.

I always fed my BN zucchini. I would buy a couple of the green ones, rinse them and then slice them. I would place rows of slices on wax papre, fold the paper, do another line etc. Then they went into the freezer.

To feed i would removed the slices and nuke them on defrost. This also made them a bit warm. Heat rises and warm zucchini floats. So I would cool it down in cold tap water and if it sank I just dropped it into the tank and down it went. If it did not sink when cooled, I would nuke it a bit more on defrost. the goal was to cook it as little as possible in order to get it to sink.

Heating foods destroys some amount of the nutritional value. So the less heat one needs to use the better. I have never fed this food without nuking it first. However, early on I used veggie clips which let me put the zuke on the glass instead of the bottom. It was still always eaten.

I will admit that using a scrwcumber etc means the vegggies are as fresh as possible. I am not sure how much nutrition I lost because I had BN that lived for almost a decade and their last spawn was over 100 fry. I finally let all my BN go and moved to Hypancistrus instead.

Also, Repashy foods sink- so I use these instead of fresh veggies. Soilent Green works for me.
