I've been feeding them directly, straight from the freezer, no thawing. Would the cold bloodworm be detrimental to my pbass (irritating stomach lining)?

Try sucking on an ice cube with just your lips :)

You really should thaw the cube first. Most of the time, I will get a small bowl with a little hot water in it, add a cube or two, add a few freeze dried shrimp (which need to be moist before feeding) and feed up a buffet once the cube(s) thaw. I always let them sit in the bowl for a few mintes after they have thawed. Its still pretty cold even though its not frozen any longer.

heck ya throw it in frozen if you have your tank as warm as it should be it will thaw in a matter of seconds ..You should be in the high 80's for P's;)Oh by the way it's less messy when forzen that way they can peck at it and it is not flying all over the tank...:D

Only thing that makes me uneasy about feeding the cubes whole is the preservatives they use when making them. Ever notice the discolored water that come out from the net when you rinse them? I'd prefer to keep that out of my water.

Agreed with ShookONEs about the water and stuff. How big are the bass? If they are hammering blood worms, I see no reason to try shrimp, Massivores, etc.

But, to answer your question, I see no problem with it.

Mine is about 3-4 inches. I'd prefer to feed it shrimps but it spits the shrimps out everytime. Maybe the shrimp is too chewy? I figure I'd feed it bloodworms until it gets a little bigger then try shrimps again.

Nothing wrong with feeding them straight frozen cubes. They melt quickly and I've never had issues with this.

I like to mix brine shrimp in there as well....they also come frozen. helps mix up the diet. One good thing about thawing them is you can crush up pellets and let em sit in there for a minute...then they will get used to the taste of pellets as well.

SO I prefer thawing them so I can add crushed pellets.....so soon enough they'll be eating pellets.
