So i have some stuff that i grabbed from the local asian market for my rift lake tank. I have frontosa, calvus, tropheus duboisi and synodontis multis.

I want to know if it would be ok if i feed them any or all of these foods as treats. I would probably feed them small servings of these in between their regular feedings of NLS.

I bought a pack of seaweed sheets. They are unseasoned, roasted seaweed sheets and i bought them mainly for the tropheus. The package says Roasted Nori.

I have some frozen mussel meat. The ingredients say that its just mussel meat and no additives like butter/seasonings. Can i chop these up and throw them in?

I also bought some Masago. These are those little orange fish eggs that you get on your sushi rolls. I wanted to buy some sort of fish egg, but the pre packaged stuff in supermarkets seemed to have a lot of salt/preservatives. I figured this stuff would be my best bet. What do you think?

Thanks :)

the eggs are salted the nori is iffy but the mussels are fine.

yay and nay......... salted eggs nay... the rest... yay

Lame. I'm going to have a bunch of this stuff leftover, and nothing to do with it :irked:

Is there any type of fish egg that you can buy that is safe for them to eat?

Trophs are especially sensitive to bloat.

Keep it simple ...buy pellets.

1. Frontosa = colony, large piscivore, groups of 12 minimum, large tanks
2. Tropheus = colony fish, minimum 12 (I prefer 20), herbivourous (that doesn't mean you have to bring hay for him)
3. Calvus = carnivorous, egg hunter, pairs
4. S. Multipunctatus = colony catfish again, groups of 12.

I don't know how large your tank is but you might reconsider the livestock and change some things around.

Frontosa + Calvus + S. Multi Yay
Tropheus + S. Petricola + Shellies YAY

...again, loose the junk, do your fish a favour and buy pellets.
