Hi' Guy's ,

I have a 4x2x2 tank with the following stock:
Wild Oscar, female Jack Dempsey , Royal Plec l190 , Sorubim Lima , African Butterfly fish , 3 Rope Fish (did have 5 but lost 2 recently). in with the following Bichir's
1 weeksii 14"ish
1 ornate 4" ish
1 lap 14"ish
1 senegal 7"ish
1 delhezi (sooo cuty and tiny!) 2"ish

Can i fit any other bichir's in there? I prefer to have differernt types if possible.

The tank is filtered by a fluval/hagen fx5 and a eheim 2078e so it's got around 10x turn over an hour:)

I also have a 48"*12*15 tank but this has a large group of Channa orientalis in it.

Yeah a few more should be fine,go for it.

Get rid of the african butterfly fish or the or lima, oscar, weeksi, ornate or lap will get rid of it for you. You seem to have a good filteration so if you can afford to get more go for it. Go get some for that you can get and have a bichir pile. Just make sure you can provide enough food for all. With a 120g you can complete your bichirs collection. The only thing is if you can source them all out.

wow i am suprized that del is still alive.
I had the ornate in when it was this size and its now growing well the other fish leave it alone. The laperedei keeps its self to itself and the weeksii doesnt seem to notice it.
I have a sand substrate and its quite heavly planted and with the colour of the Delzhei it just kinda blends in. Nothings gone near it so far, i havent had it terribly long but if it doesnt grow much in a month or two i'll get it's tank and grow it on a little.

I would get a 180/210 because of that Oscar

This is something id' like to do at some point but have no room to put it ,i do have an outbuilding type thing whee i could fit one but the roof's nakerd and it's need insulating which i cannot do until the summer at the earliest due to the poor weather conditions here.

Thanks for the advise on the african butterfly fish , it's been there for over a year now and hasnt been botherd by any of the fish but i'll move this in with my snakeheads as i can imagine it could do damage if eaten.
As for having the complete collection in my tank are you refering to all of the species or just the upper jaw species ? i would of thought the two endlicheri species and the bichir bichir would require a 3 foot wide tank due to their potential length?
As for sourcing them, im sure i can do it given time.
Regards

Ben
