there is a 21 inch arrowana for sale near me but the only tank i have it can go in is a 72x18x18 with 2 9-10 inch o's and a 8 inch giraffe catfish in it i know the tank is to small for it but it will only be in there for roughly 2 months and it is an upgrade on the tank it's in now. my main question is would the arrowana be alright with the o's and the giraffe cat or would they fight

With the oscars it would probably be OK, but lots of factors need be considered:

What kind of arowana is it?

Your tank is already well stocked can the filtration handle the additional bio load?

What is the planned upgrade for the aro in two months?

Do you have alternate tank available if the oscars decide they don't want the aro as a tankmate?

Do you have a suitable top on your tank for keeping a silver arowana?

:iagree: I can't come up with better questions. Especially the one in red. Other things can be worked on this one can't unless you have a spare large tank.

dont think so b/c 21" arowana in a 18" width tank?

1)silver arrowana
2) filteration is a fluval 405 and a pond filter with 1500lph pump
3)upgrade will be to a 5x4x2
4)ye i have a spare tank
5)i can put weights on it

then i guess its ok

I would say no then. 5x4x2' tank is too short for an adult silver.

Trust me I have two 27" silvers in a 6' long tank. It is way too short. Large silvers should have an 8 footer minumum.
