my male zz is very pearly and i believe is ready to breed so i am giving it a hand with texas female somewhat larger than her.the male has very less head not that low but his head has just started growing when he has hit nearly 4 inches.so,can i get some average headed or high headed fry from this pair
like this one

a or somewhat low grade.you can look at my male zz

he is faded like because it is bare bottom which i have expressed interest to take advice on in my previous thread named "which is better"
and how can i tell which fry will develop head (huge or average) when they hit like 2 inches .

That's a beautiful fh, I want it:)

Some fry will show kok potential at that size , bit I would suggest growing them out to 4" . If you keep them separated in their own territory they will show kok development sooner.

i will say now but im being pretty blunt about it. that flowerhorn crossed with a texas is a recipe for nothing special. texas do not have large kok genes and it looks the same with your flowerhorn.
at the size your flowerhorn is it shows little to no colour, so in my opinion you will end up with a pearly grey flowerhorn with no special head.

a head like that is acheived by a series of line breeding for a specific quality.

to find the best out of the batch grow them out to as large as you can without them ripping each other apart then choose the ones with the best qualities such as kok, pearling and colour then seperate them and watch them grow.

be carefull as many flowerhorn can be the ugly duckings until 4"

Oh snap, lol I thought the pic was yours ....I retract my previous statement. The fh in the pic is beautiful.

the one in the picture probably took decades to perfect and numerous counts of line breeding. the sort of thing you dedicate your life too
