This fella was sold to me with 4 girlfriends as Flamebacks. When I got them they were all dull grey and stressed looking. I have been feeding them for the past few weeks with spectrum cichlid and he has colored up nicely, although his back is not anywhere near as red as photos I have seen of other flamebacks. Could anyone confirm what these are?

Forgive the photos - I didn't realize my glass was smeared until after!

I thought it may have been a thickskin but wasn't too sure. I have looked up the Mbipia, their stripes are more dotted, this fish when he is trying to impress the ladies has solid distinct vertical stripes
