My LFS has 4-5 inch trophus for sale at $40. They are black with orange I believe they are bulu (cherry spot). I want him for the color and for the algae eating.

1. Is this a fair price
2. can I just get 1 for my tank. (125gallon, 2-emperor 400's, cichlid sand, holy rock, mixed (male and female) hap and peacock tank)
 
dont bump your thread within an hour that it has been posted this is annoying... also google has more information then we have.

Tropheus are from tang

peacocks and haps from malawi

plus you need a harem of 20+

like living on mars when your from saturn

totally different conditions

I know you can mix them (did some research) the lakes only real difference is pH, and I know that tropheus can eat NLS

I am asking for 1 because the person at the LFS said 1 is good 2 will fight or get at least 8 (they don't have 8 nor do I have that tank space or money)
 
Idk what those two are talking about... Yes, you can get just one (of course, this depends on what your existing stock is) although I would never suggest mixing rift lake cichlids just as I wouldn't suggest mixing africans with CA or SA; they have different temperaments and the three rift lakes all have slightly different water chemistry. That being said, there have been plenty of hobbyists who have had mixed lake tanks with great success.
Also, Runko is right; you're only allowed to bump your thread once per 24 hours
 
I have 2 Victorians with my Peacocks. Been happy as can be for the past 6 months.
