what the title says...

no one?

hi mb i wouldn't keep these 2 together as the clown is far more aggressive than the african and as bigvisk says the clown will eventually swallow it if it hasn't killed it first. My royal clown holds his own with 2 10" oscars! And he is only about 8"!:)

Both species have been known to be pretty territorial and may kill the other one. The Clown Knife will get larger and probably end up eating the African Knife.

I dont think so, rnt african clown knifes suppose to reach like 12 inches?
They wudnt be the only inhabitants, theres b 3 oscars n 3 polys
N it wud only be temporarily... when i finish the 300 gallon the ABK will stay in the 55

The African Brown Knife is a pretty shy fish. An Oscar can easily bully it. The Clown Knife is a bit more aggressive than an African Brown Knife (even if both fish are pretty mellow, IMO) and can hold it's own against fish like an Oscar. I've seen tanks with different speices of Knife fish and they don't end very well.

:iagree:
The African Brown Knife can be anywhere from 8"-12" And the Clown Knife can get up to 30" in captivity. An 8" African Brown Knife would be an easy meal for a 2' Clown Knife.

Ok then I think I will just put the clown in a seperate holding tank untill my 300 is done... or better yet Ill take out the brown knife n put him in the seperate tank so the clown can join the rest of the gang...
