i currently have,
9 3-4" silver dollars
13" gibby pleco
4-5" oscar
6" blood parrot all in a 90g

6 2-4" clown loaches in a 38g

i will be getting a 125 or 180 in 2-3 months and i plan on getting a 6" silver aro at the same time, all fish listed will go into the larger tank for a year or 2 until i move and have the room to set up my 300g(which i already have). i do plan on loosing some of the smaller fish to large mouths, but hopefully not. my LFS has some 3-4" fronts which im shure are the common ones, but i only want to get one, is that ok? my ph is 7, but i hear fronts like 8ish which is my main concern.

The water conditions are radically different between tangs and the SA fish on your list. For best color, the fronts should be in hard alkaline water. The SA fish in soft neutral to acid water. There are comm tanks with this mix but, I've never seen fronts fully colored out at lower pH levels.

yeah that was what i thought. any other ideas on 12-16"ish fish that would work for my situation, please no sug. for to agressive fish as i just had to get rid of a jd and convict because they harrased and killed some of my other fish and they were only 2-4". i know, im picky but im lookin for 1 more fish to "comlete" my future setup while the others are still small.

Red Bay Snook Although on the larger end of the 16"+ spectrum

ill second the red bay snook motion.. awesome fish always active and lookin for food. nice color and eyes too. oh and they always seem to be smiling.

You have to take 3rd, Oddball 2nd the motion..

that sounds good but do they really eat anyhting that fits in their mouth? i know i said i expected to lose some fish, but the red bay snook sounds like it will eat half my stock.

I think if you buy one small, and start it with the tank mates on prepared food you should be fine. Most of your fish get pretty big and I have heard a ton of horror storys about them. I have a larger 9" one I just picked up but haven't put it in my bigger tank with the smaller fish because he didn't grow up with them. But will soon add him in.
