can i keep exodons with plecos

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Should be fine,as exodons prefer to attack scaled fishes,u might be able to get some pictus too as they have no scales

I didnt know that, its interesting. the guy at lfs said that you want the toughest scaliest fish because they would try to go for the plecos belly

Scaled fish is the way to go. Plecos/catfish should be fine as they need to have spines or hard plates to protect themselves.

Pictus wouldn't be the best choice there with exodons.

I've seen them together when they are smaller

Years ago I had a single exodon in a 40 long with a school of bleeding hearts without problems but I am now thinking I was just lucky;)

When I had my group of 18, I kept them with armored bottom dwellers. Now that my brother has them, he's got them with pictus cats, bristlenose plecos and so far he said they don't bother the cats and pleco. I think as long as you have enough cover and caves for the bottom dwellers they'll be fine.
