I saw a few beautiful farlowella catfish (aka twig pleco's) in one of my lfs today, I would be interested in adding a male & female pair to my 55 gallon but I don't know if they will be bullied or killed. In the tank I have some giant danios, 5 tiger barbs, 1 male (I think) brisltenose pleco, 1 short fire eel (less than 10 inches atm, getting a bigger tank when its older), 1 galaxy woodcat (tatia intermedia), and 1 red tailed shark. I know everyone is going to say that the shark is gonna be a problem in this tank but so far he is one of the shyest fish in the tank. He is only aggressive to the danios, and thats only when they try to steal whatever he's eating. He spends all day in the gap in the rocks, hanging out with the fire eel, or chilling out with the woodcat and the pleco under one of my big driftwood pieces. I don't think that feeding them will be any problem either, the woodcat is a shy feeder, but it seems to eat all the food I shove in its den after lights out (and some before), and its color is still good so I'm pretty sure it isn't starving. Plus I have water parameters they like, and two big pieces of gnarly driftwood for them to rasp/hide on, plus fake plants. The barbs are still young, so are the danios, but I think the shark is the equivalent of a teenager in age.farlowella.jpg

Sounds doable. It is understood that exceptions occur with any stock and every tank is different. So, I'd have a plan if there are problems but chances are ok it is doable IMHO.
