hi . love the awesome colouration of the Giant snakehead . just wondering how they are like with fishes too big for them to eat? will they take a chomp out of my arows? and can a 6x2.5x2.5 ft tank hse giant snakeheads?

i have no self experience with the giant snakehead do to them being illegal in my area, but i do know a good deal about them, just a very brief explantion on them-

they grow big!- 4'+
they grow fast- like weeds

they are very agro fish and do not do well with tankmates, they devour most anyfish they can fit in there mouths, i saw a 11" Giant eat an 8" catfish. your tank is large but not large enough to keep adult for there entire lives, but at least for a good deal into there sub adult stage, i'd recommend to keep them as a soliatry speciemen rather than with anything else

Hello, if the tank is to small and yours is to small, the snakehead will bite the aro in 2 pieces. I know such a story from a Tank with 6000l. After that, the giant snakehead was used for a delicate barbecue.

Snakehead an big catfish would be possibe, but with a Aro, you have to build a large tank than yours.

I had self experience with it mixing the channa marulioides with my green and silver arowanas together in my 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank.

What i had found that the snakehead (around 13 inches) was dare to attack and chase my few arowanas that far bigger then it-self. To avoid any fishes get injuries, I had removed the snakehead away from the tank.

screw the snakehead then .. wanted to buy giant snakeheads .. its dirt cheap over here in singapore . like 40 for 1.50 sg which is 0.80 us dollars. cos they are feeder fish over here

Not at all :D the Snakehead will take chunks out of it

I think this would be a time bomb waiting to explode. First off if you bought all the species at the same size they may co-exist just temporarily. If the aros are alot larger than the SH, they will eat him and vice versa. I've heard the Giants and Reds are usually alot more docile under 12in, but after that tend to get very aggressive and will eat and kill other tankmates. I would not try it, esp. w/ Arowanas. I would have to agree this species of SH may be better of w/ a tank of its own. Now there are other SH's than can co-exist but Giants, I wouldnt try it.....Good Luck on whatever you decide to do....;)

what do yall think about a jag and a snakehead, dwarf snakehead i would think.i know the agression of both species so i wonder would it work?

jag and a dwarf SH wont work for long.
dwarfs cant stand up towards aggro tankmates.
a giant SH will outgrow that tank.
the SH will be fien with those fish until he gets as big as them.
then he'll eat em.
the thing abotu them is,once theyre the same size as any fish, they think they can kill em.
which they can.

ok so def no dwarf , any other species of SH tha i could keep with jag?obviously not giant.
