Over there
As some of you know, I'm tearing down my big tank and selling off my bichirs and right now, all I've got left is a 16" koloton and 2 laps (12" and 14-15"). It seems like such a waste of space and money to keep running this tank for just these 3 so I was curious what your guys thoughts are to puttin them in a 55g until they sell. Thanks guys

I wouldn't. I think you risk too much with them being in a tank with a width 2-4" smaller than they are. IMO I would keep the larger tank up they'd be more comfortable in it until a buyer comes along.

Thanks Dr. B. What about if I drained half the tank and used sponge filters? Would that be ok? I'm just trying to find a way to cut back on electricity until I find a buyer. That would allow me to use only 1 heater instead of 2 and a couple air pumps instead of this giant electricity sucking rio in the sump

The only reason I wouldn't want them in a 55 is because of the 12" width. Mine periodically freak out when a door slams or something bumps the tank and I would worry there might be injuries in a tank that small. Other than that I would be ok with then in there for a little while, but not very long.

Haha I understand. I should've clarified. I meant what if I drained half my 150g and used sponge filters
