saw this ad on CL and thought i would ask you guys how this would work out i plan on keeping a pair of sevs, oscar, chalceus, maybe female RT, ornate bichir and MAYBE BGK would i be able to keep these guys with them or no? i looked them up and they dont get big so size would be fine for my tank just didnt know if they would get along or not should i keep the turtles in separate tank till my fish grow out and then add them, how big would my fish have to be to be safe from them?
my tank is 125g

you CAN do anything. whether or not it is a good idea is a different story.

i wouldn't.

lol well yeah thats what i was wondering is if it would work out well or if the turtles would be too nippy with the fish (care sheet says females are mainly herbivorous while males are carnivorous so maybe if she has a female i could just put one of them in?)

The only way to meet the needs of the turtles would be to keep that tank only 1/2 -2/3 full and set up one end with a lot of rocks. You wouldn't be able to meet the needs of all those fish that way.

I suspect your tank is over stocked now... a BGK in there would be bad news with out the turtles.

ok so i see that it wont work out thats fine just thought i would ask and i contacted her but she already found a home for them anyways, and i do not have these fish yet, my tank is still set up as an african tank im in the process of moving it and switching it to SA, but do you really think that with that stock list it would be overcrowded? would only have 4 cichlids and then the bichir for bottom and chalceus for top, i was also planning on getting the BGK before the others and allowing it to grow a bit before adding the others i will also have tons of driftwood with lots of hiding places

Care sheet is wrong. Slider's are omnivorous. Doesen't matter weather their male or female. I have kept them and had both, and neither showed any preference. Definently would not be a good idea in a small environment. Just stick with one or the other.
