Recently shrimp hit my LFS and I am definitely interested in the cherry and ghost shrimp, but I'm wondering if they are going to be instantly eaten in my tank

Would either be compatible with:

6 inch senegalus
5 inch synodontis
5 inch geophagus
2 inch rapheal catfish

I also have a pleco but I don't think that'll be an issue.

Thanks

Absolutely not, they will be a light snack. Also, the ghosts can eat the cherries.

The sen, syn, and geo all include shrimp high up on their diet preferences. And, there are pleco species that are omnivorous and carnivorous in their eating habits.

If your tank has alot of large flat-bottom rocks, you might be able to keep a culture of gammarus shrimp going since not all would be eaten due to the ones hiding under the rockwork. Those shrimp that venture out would become welcome snacks to the fish.

If I were you i would get another 10g or something to breed what ever shrimp you want in then once you have a good colony take some and try and let them establish in your main tank. And If they don't establish they were put to good use.
