Can I Pump my tank with co2 to the max?

My Oscar just died (I got him for free from a friend because the oscar was dieing) so I was wondering, Can I pump my tank to the max with co2, with plants in it and could i have gourami because apparently they can breath oxygen from the air instead of breathing it from the water?

You can... but the fish will still die, as will the plants. CO2 will affect the pH, and if you crank it all the way, don't be surprised if your water is more acidic than lemon juice. Read the stickies.
