Hi, I'm breeding convict cichlids for feeders and i have a pair that had one spawn and i put the fry into a 20 gallon tank. Then the had a second spawn and now i feel it is time to move the second spawn because the parents are looking like the are getting ready for the third spawn. So my question is would it be safe to put the little maybe a 1/4in fry in with 1in fry? Or will the first batch eat the little ones?

My opinion is: If there is any kind of size difference, the larger ones will attack the smaller ones. You will probably lose a few, but in the long run, I think the majority of them would survive.....You are only using them as feeders anyway!!! I would go ahead and try it.

I had mine spawn and then they did it again without me realizing it. I lost a few before I went a bought a divider. I watched as they became lil feeders.
