Hey ray guys, I was never going to comtemplate this but i have recently been thinking about it and thought maybe this could work but still think its a long shot.

Ok i have a 8" motoro in a 150 and was wondering what you guys think of putting a 13" Leiariusmarmoratus with him. I currently have a 6" tat with the motoro along with 2 Kelbs and 1 Azul all about 5". The tank is basically open with a medium sized piece of drift wood in the middle.

I was only thinking this after it hit me that iv been feeding my motoro and Marbled cat the same food. shrimp and NC's

I know tiger shovelnose can mix with rays but not red tailed cats. what about a catfish that has the body type in between these two? Any thoughts on this combo?

I think this depends on the personality of the catfish...some people get away with some combos and others don't...as I am sure that you are aware if a catfish thinks it can try to fit another fish in it's mouth then it will probably try it.

A 150 is not that large a tank so you are less likely yo get away with it than a 500 gal.

If the motoro is a female then it will outgrow the 150 pretty fast anyway and if a male then it will be longer.

Personally I would not take the risk at all but if you are prepared to whip it put at the first sign of trouble then you might try it...being that both are likely to be active when the lights are out then that is when the trouble is likely to start.

You need to give the cat room to hide but you need all the swimming space you can get for the motoro.

yea you are right and with a 150 i cant really afford to give the cat room to hide and the motoro alot of room to move. i think im just going to get another ray and sadly leave the cat in a 75

I've kept this combo in the past. If you have enough room go for it, but achara cats grow very fast. Mine was almost two feet after a year.
