well I have en empty 55 gallon and I want an ansorgii bichir and I wanted to know if I could put him in a 55 gall with water and a canister filter but I will put a Senegal bichir also in there to keep company to him the sens btw 7 inches and he will be 9 if I get him hes just sitting here at the store what do I do help ;-; they r closing in one hour pls help me asap hes only 30 dollars

Depending on the size, you can keep it temporarily but they are 1 of the largest bichirs and they grow fast and eventually might eat the sen if its hungry enough. Unless you have a bigger tank, 200g+ range, I wouldn't do it.

You should pickit up if it's actually ansorgi, then maybe rehome to someone with a bigger home for it

I wouldn't pick it up. Angsorii can get very large and it will outgrow that tank eventually. If you want to buy it then rehome it make sure you have someone interested instead of buying it then no one being interested and then either taking it back to the store or being stuck with a fish that will get bigger than the tank you have. If you are interested in upgrading and have plans to upgrade then I'd say get it, but you'd have to try and upgrade pretty quick.

I would put water in. They won't live long in an empty tank.

Beat me to it LOL

well I looked up and there are two species of ansorgii I wanted the one that stayed around 14 inches
is that to big

well just got a 75 gallon and pretty soon getting him a 125 I couldn't refuse not to take him home he was being picked on and he was fairly cheap lmao how could u say no?

Two species of ansorgii? No, ansorgii is a species. It is one of the largest bichirs, growing at least 24 inches. A 14 inch bichir would be a delhezi most likely. And yes 14 inches is too big.
