Hi,i planned to buy an oscar that 12-15 cm long,i want to put it into my tank that already housed a fire eel,a senegalus bichir,a frontosa, and a chalceus.my tank capacity is around 550 liters and all my fish are just 14-22 cm.can i put an oscar to my tank without making problem with other fish?can they workout with each other?

I'd be concerned about the oscar's aggressive feeding habits will prevent more passive feeding fish like the spiny eel from getting enough to eat

The oscar that you are getting is it used to eating live feeder fish? It will be more aggressive to other fish if its used to eating feeders. But I would be comfortable putting it into your tank though

fwprawn : chalceus and bichir can fit into oscar mouth?how big oscar can get acually?
cichlaholics : oh..thanks for your opinion..
rwellbaum : the shopkeeper said he feed them bloodworm

and when you add new aggressive fish into a tank it is a good idea to add a new decoration and move the existing decorations around so there is no set territory so your existing fish do not fight for there territory and they might get hurt or they might hurt the new fish. put something new in there for like a week and then you can take it out and put the tank back to the way that you want it.

If you need to ask how big the Oscar will get, I think you should do a little more research before getting it.
Also, if the two fish you mention CAN fit in his mouth, then they will be in his mouth.
