I was thinking of getting a refugium 20-50 gallons (just have the one in the sump now) and was wondering if I could put fish in it. I would keep the lights on during the day and set it up outside the tank so I could see the fish. Would this work? I would also keep the fuge in my sump so I would run those lights at night. How would that work out?
Thanks.

Yep, I have put really passive fish in fuges before, like Seahorses, and pipefish. Just don't leave the lights on any longer then the day, as most fish dont do well under 24/7 light.

Make sure they are divided off from machinery...I had a harlequin tusk who decided to live in a mag12 inflow. Not a good choice.
