Hello everyone,

I bought a FL gar at my local pet store and hes about 8" cost around $30. Was that a good price you think? I don't really know much about price on true gars but just wondering. Also their selling a LN gar for $20 and i really want it! Hes about 4-5" so i wanna see if i can put him also with the FL gar in a 180g custom tank. I don't want them to tear their selves apart. Dimensions of the tank are 5FeetLX3FeetWX2FeetH. Thanks Alot

the two gar will get along fine, but longnose gar are a pain in the butt to care for and they often times end up killing themselves (breaking their back). if you think you have the room i guess go for it.

firstly, yes they can mix. the tanksize is really cool and you'll be able to house them for quite a while.(fl gar gets up to 15" while ln gar 18" in the first yr). however before that, you might wanna take precautions and house them in a slightly smaller tank, as large tank and small(esp ln gars) is generally not such a good idea:)

i have a fl and a ln together but there only in a 75g tank. and yes they get along great and mine stay together most of the time.
