i was wondering what pike to put in with my firemouth (he is a cute little baby right now )
the tank is stock with
1 firemouth cichlid
1 rosy barb(little brother bought it and put it in the tank):screwy:
1 freaking rainbow shark i cant wait till the cichlid rips the thing to shreads LOL:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

larger tank will come before the pike does hehe

im planning on getting a 80 realy quick before i get any more fish

Some of the Saxatilis group pikes would work well, although firemouths just don't have the ability to really stand up to a pike. Their jaw structure would get torn to shreds if they did. They are more bluff for sure.

It could work, you can always try. I had Crenicichla acutirostris in with my Thorichthys pasiones....so it CAN be done. :)

it can definitely work. if your firemouth is a juvenile still. id suggest trying to find a juvenile pike as well. it always helps to grow the fish up together. that seems to help reduce aggression. id also stick with a saxatilis pike, alot of the lugubris ones might get alittle to big (12-14 inces). maybe some dwarf species would work as well, like regani or compressiceps.
