Can I Remove The Mom?

Hi all, wondering if there’s any benefit to keeping the mom in this 10 gallon with the fry any longer. They started to swim around 8/7. Or can I put the mom back in her 75 gallon now?

Should be fine as long as there aren't any predators to eat the fry. Parents once free swimming mainly provide protection.

You can remove the female.

Thanks all. There aren’t any other fish in the 10 gallon. The female just stands guard, and will suck anyone up who wanders too far and drop them back off with the rest of the fry. I’ll put her back in the 75 gallon today.

Leave her. The growth rate between fry left with mom, and those separated early is crazy IME. I'm a fan of pulling once she loses control/interest. .02c
