Another newbie question Can the filter media on a previously saltwater wet/dry be reused? Or should I clean it down w bleach water (tank included) and get new media?
If I need to get new media, should I just fill it with potscrubbers? Anything else?
-is it still in use or has it been "just sitting" for a while?
-are you wanting to use it on a salt setup or a fresh setup?
-what type of media is it?
-if its on an active marine tank and you just want to switch it to another marine tank then yes...
-if its nolonger on an active tank then you need to clean it and start over.. it can be reused it just has to be cleaned first
-if it was on a marine setup thats still running but you want to put it on a freshwater set up then you have to clean it first but it can be used
as for bleach.. thats up to you.. i never use bleach to clean anything related to my tanks.. i know others do it and have no issues with it.. but id hate to be the one to miss a bit and wipe out my tanks
