I may be acquiring a 125 gal tank. I will need to store it outside for about 2 months. It will be under a patio roof. However, its below freezing here.

Will this have a detrimental effect on the silicone, etc.?

I did a search but came up with nothing.

Thanks.

i am pretty sure it won't do anything to the silicone. the only worry is if you bump into it you could crack it. at lower temps glass is much more likely to crack
If that was the case then windows wouldn't work...you would have to freeze glass with liquid nitrogen to get it to change into hyperbrittle glass...

It'll be fine, I have done this with and without water in my tanks...down to below freezing and the silicone was fine...

My most recent tank pick up is a 55 that was in someones backyard uncovered for about three years. It is now in full use.

I just had a meeting with the engineering staff from Morton-Thiokol. They had some concerns but it just so happened that some NASA management was there. They said that it would be just fine and the engineers don't know what they are talking about.

...you should be fine.
