i would not risk it...im no expert on this kind of stuff but i dont think the canopy or stand is strong enough to hold that up. And if think if that is filled up, then the bottom tank would just burst becuase of the pressure
i agree your taking a huge risk on not just one busted tank but two when the second one hits the floor. the canopy isnt designed to hold that much weight i wouldnt think. just my opinion i would buy or build another stand.
I agree it sounds like a bad idea, i mean most large tanks already have a lot of pressure pushing against those walls, and adding another fully loaded tank above it like that could imo quite easily cause the glass to break or the seams to fall apart...
I think if you really wanted to stack two tanks above each other it would take building something like a solid steel stand / rack of some sort?
Yeah..... not a good idea. Why not just have a metal stand built to stack them?
I have two custom built metal stands that hold two 48X18 tanks. Built out of 1.5" metal tube, make sure you get them tall enough so that you have enough room over the bottom tank.
Mine are 36" total height, with 30" between the levels, plenty of room for a 75 gal tank.
