Can I stock any fish in my 55 gallon fish tank with a oscar (which I know is debatable on even being in a 55) and a plecostomus with possibly another fish? I know my tank seems stocked as it is already but I wanted to know others opinions on this. Thank You and Sincerely BrownTrout2013

No.

Not for long term. Oscars will get at least a foot and usually bigger.

Look at Malawi cichlids.

He's saying no, you're going to have to rehome the oscar when it gets big, which will take less than a year. Also the pleco, depending on species, will get too big as well.

He's saying instead of the oscar and pleco, try something else. He recommended Lake Malawi cichlids, and I do too. They (in my opinion) are some of the most beautiful and colorful freshwater fish, that will fit just fine in your tank. Keep in mind that you shouldn't mix malawis with other types of fish, but there is plenty of selection. Look up mbuna tanks on google images!

Regardless of the oscar, the pleco has to go. People usually cite 75 minimum for oscar, but even you went down and kept it in the 55, you can't add any tankmates

Sorry I am actually mentally slow so it takes me a second or two but I dont know how I can rehome them anytime soon cause the closest pet store is at least 3 hours away and it is a huge drive plus I am 17 without a license so unless somehow in town I could give them away but dont want them to go to a home with a tank less than 125 gallons cause honestly if i was aloud 100+ gallons i would have them homed in one by now cause i believe in proper care for animals but I am looking at Malawi cichlids and they are amazing fish.

How old are the fish, and did you just buy them? The place you got them from will probably take returns, if it was recently. If not, there's no guarantee that the LFS in mind would take them, especially if it's not locally owned. I'd search for people who keep aquariums near you and ask them if they'd like them. Post an ad on craigslist is a great way.

I took them from my brothers gf cause she had it in a 20G and it is better off in my 55 but I would rather have a 75 or higher to keep it for awhile..and there is no LFS in my town only way is like craigslist or facebook..I can try I suppose.

Good luck.
Thanks =) I do want them to have a good home in a bigger aquarium so it isn't just in a 55 forever..can I do a single shubunkin goldfish I know they get large but I could just build a pond to so if they got to large they would have a pond or should I do african cichlids? Can any lake cichlid be together..for example, Lake Malawi cichlids can any be together or does it have to be like all mbunas or something? Thank you for any help.
