im just wondering if there is anything in the hose that could posibly be toxic to my fish

I've heard people say that hoses can leach chemicals into the water. I only ever use the hose whenever I'm filling up an empty tank. Besides, after I cycle it and do a huge water change to get the fish in, most of the original hose water is gone. You could always spend some money on a safe hose. If it says "potable" or "drinking water safe," it's good.

been doing it since 97,,,,youll be fine, just be careful with the temp of the water your adding.................

would 75-80 degrees be a problem?

as long as it matches your tank water temp yea,or try to match it as close as you can,,

I'd get a food grade one to be safe if your paranoid about it.. its the white hose with the blue line.

i've been filling mine with a garden hose, and its been perfect

Been doing it for years, even with discus. No issues. I also do it in the winter when the water temp from the hose is COLD. Again no issues. My fish actually seem to prefer the cold water break and swim around under the nozzel. Even with 30% water changes the overall temp in the tank does not change much and will heat back up to normal temp in an hour or so.
