I have read up that there are some types of wood you cannot use in fish tanks, so I just want to make sure this isn't one of those. Not sure what type it is, but here are a couple pictures of the driftwood I've been wanting to use for quite sometime now. It was in my Bearded dragon's tank for a couple years, however it has been out of it for about 3-4 years now. I was thinking about soaking it in hot water and then baking it for a couple hours to rid it of any lingering poop bacteria. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

kill the bacteria and drown it. may take a while to waterlog but eventually it will give in and sink. had an entire root structure from the ozarks in a 135 and it took months to sink

How long should I bake it and what temp? I don't think it will fit entirely in my oven :/ Possibly hit it with the pressure washer, a stiff scrubber, and let it sit in the oven for a bit?

Thanks

If it doesn't fit in the oven, you can always soak it in bleach water for a spell and then rinse it well a few times.

Completly disagree with Golem - Don't go anywhere near the thing with bleach. I've used multiple peices of driftwood i've found on riverbanks/lakes/streams inside all my planted tanks.

You are definetly on the right track with the pressure washer, wire brush and to be on the safe side the oven. I usually just stick pieces in the dishwasher with no soap, or boil them but i've heard people cooking at 150-300F for 30mintues - 4hours. All depends how paranoid you are.
