Let me start off with saying that I just graduated high school and will be attending college and getting a job this fall. For graduation I received a decent amount of money from family, and thought I could afford a large tank with a good deal on Craigslist, I've looked for over a month now and still have come up empty. Other uses for the cash have arisen and it has become hard to hold onto the cash much longer. Currently In my tank the only fish really pushing the size Limit of my tank are my balas which are no bigger than 5 inches (btw I have a 55 and the only other tank mates are 3 clown loaches and 8 cardinal tetra). My question is can I wait until September/October to get a new tank? I'll have a job (well at least I intend to) and can afford a much better setup at that time.

Thanks

Should be fine for a few more months, are you moving anywhere for college ? If so I would wait till after to get a big tank. Moving them is a big task. If your staying at home and you are making enough to get a big tank well why not then !

Yeah im attending a jc, so I'll be living at home the next two years, after that my family knows how to watch over the tank for two years.

Thanks!
