So my water change is due in a few days and I realized the other day I had fry!! My question is,
Is it safe to do my water change with dry in there? Also, can I add my dechlorinator with them in there, too? :nilly:

i would dechlorinate before adding the water, also pour really really slow so the current doesnt smack them around and kill them

Yup go ahead. Just don't siphon them up. And as mentioned don't over agitate the water and de chlorinate first. What kind of fry ? Big difference between Discus fry and platy/ convict fry.

we do water changes on fry tanks... so sure you can do a water change on a tank with fry...

Good point Tcarswell... what kind of fry are they?

I would suggest that both above suggestions are pushing you to be far more cautious than you really need to be... although there is nothing wrong with being "too cautious"...

I'm in the middle of doing a water change on a tank that is slam full of Blue Dempsey fry as well as some eggs...

ok so dechlorinate first... then change the water? but u mean add the dechlorinator to the new water then add it to the tank or add the dechlorinator to the tank then add the water? sorry if this sounds dumb, I don't want to kill the babies! And they're convict cichlid fry..

i would add to the new water so its not so concentrated in one area of the tank ...and insted of a siphon i would just scoop out the water to be really safe

Thanks alot you guys I really appreciate it :hearts:
