ok yes I agree the best tank mates are more rays however I have alot of different fish in with my 2 retic rays. I think it all depends on the rays themselves and of course I wouldn't put anything aggressive with rays. What size tank?
ive seen pictures of veija in tanks with rays.... it would be a gamble what kind of rays were you thinking of getting? tanks size?
I agree with Nic. Besides, some viejas can be really aggressive. Anything is possible though, as I've said before, I have a couple crenicichla in with my motoros. That's usually a bad combo, but mine don't seem to notice each other.
i tend to have less problems with other fish as tankmate if the ray is active. but putting a new ray in with another fish who has claimed that tank as theirs has given me problems, esspecially if the ray is not active from stress of a new enviornment their eyes tend to get picked on. really is dependant on the ray and the tankmate. its a 50/50 chance they will be ok or get picked on. thats why i dont like chancing it. good luck with whatever you decide.
