My convicts had babys again and the last batch none survived except for 6 that i pit in a breeding box net They are about a month old and i have 1 week old fry in the tank could i put them in the net with the 1 month fry ??

Or leave them with the parents... They are for the most part great parents and should raise the fry well and defend any oncomers. Give it a try. It's not like they won't breed again, hey they are convicts. Lol they breed like rabbits

Ah. Soz. Was on ma phone. Well leave them be anyways, the parents will eventually learn to not kill all their children. Convicts may be inexperienced and mean parents at first, but they'll learn to be great parents. You can save your fries by moving them off to the tank with the month old fries, but they may be eaten or out-competed and whilst you may still save a few anyways, yeah in the long run you'll save a lot more by letting the parents learn.

feed them better/ more often, usually ime cichlids cannibalize fry because of nutritional defficencies/insufficent food available. i would agree with leaving the fry with the parents... also make sure your filtration isnt sucking them up, the parents may not be the culprits. other fish in the tank? are you grinding up a good quality food for the fry? the parents will usually learn to do this but if its their first few broods they may not have learned this yet.
