I have a qt tank with 17 new arrival, different species. All were treated for Ips prior to my purchase.
There is one Inca Stone fish who is not thriving, abdomen seems even thinner, all others in tank are steadily fatter. I've seen no bad feces.
It is also hangs out in one corner area, chased out of main tank area by other Incas. not bitten or anything, but kept at disadvantage. doesn't go after much food that falls his way, but others often beat him to it.
I don't know if it's just the underdog or weak for other reasons to begin with. all seemed pretty equal at first.
I have nowhere to isolate one fish now.
SO, I just want to know if IP treatment can even work in a bucket or not.
If no, maybe I could net & try to dose him orally.

I realize that if that improved him, the whole tank would need treatment. just don't want to do that without cause.

Yes, it's not as good as in tank treatment but you can do it. Use Metro or API General Cure, 1 packet (10 gallon dose) in a 5 gallon bucket of tank water for 60 mins. You could also add 1/2 teaspoon of Meth Blue to the bucket.

I love Inca stone fish (T mac) good luck with them. Very cool.

thanks Tom. is one time sufficient, or must it be repeated?

I would repeat it for about 3 days.
