I want to put a jardini arowana in my 130 gallon tank, can it be done with lots of matnice and care and no tank mates?

yea, if not for eternity but he can last a lont time in there ... by the way what size is he?

a local breeder has them at 1 inch they still have there egg sacks on, there not for sale yet

If you get him at a very small size i would recommend putting him in a smaller tank if you have one to grow him out a little bit. It makes it easier for him to find food without so much surface are to swim in. or you could put him in a floating cage to limit his area and feed him that way.

yea, 180 is good for an aro bigger than 6" if they're like 2-3" i think you better go with an smal tank...

I agree...putting him right into the 130 could be a problem. Back in the day, I put a jardini into a 150 and I had a heck of a time trying to keep him healthy. I would put food in and he would bolt and never find the find the food. I was doing constant water changes to get the uneaten food out, he was skinny as hell, and very skittish.

As soon as I put him into a smaller tank it was like he was a different fish. He fattened right up, got some nice color, and then got eaten by a sleeper goby. :irked:

What are the dimensions on the 130?
